Yorkshire MVC – Pontefract 2026

The Yorkshire MVC are pleased to announce that the Bavarian choirs from Germany – Die RosenKavaliere and Bell Cantánima Ladies will be joining with them at a concert in St Giles Church, Market Place, Pontefract, WF8 1AT on 4 October 2026, 4.30pm.

The RosenKavaliere are a 15-member men’s choir from the Rosenheim-Wasserburg-Prien region. Since 2016, we have delighted our audiences with multi-part renditions of sacred and secular songs and ballads. Our diverse repertoire includes romantic compositions, amusing folk song arrangements, wonderful popular tunes, charming barbershop songs, and settings of well-known contemporary songs.

Die RosenKavaliere website

Bell Cantànima Ladies is based in the picturesque Chiemgau area in Bavaria, Germany and was founded in 2014 by soprano Anja Schwarze-Janka. The choir’s primary aim has been preserving the predominantly classical-sophisticated repertoire for women’s choirs and bringing challenging 3-to-5-part vocal works for an all-female ensemble back to the concert stage.

The close-knit ensemble currently consists of 12 singers with a wealth of singing experience, who have by now prepared and performed several different programs. For every season there are suitable secular and sacred works, presented in a delightful interplay of solo and choral pieces on a wide variety of occasions.

Joint concerts are also regularly held with “Die RosenKavaliere” a closely associated men’s choir.
